Viewers are for clients, stakeholders and anyone who needs to follow a brand's AI visibility without touching the setup. That role is now enforced everywhere, and it explains itself.
What a viewer can do
- See everything. Results, topics, prompts, audits, schedules and reports are all visible.
- Open, copy and download reports. Published reports and their share links work as before.
- Export data. Export stays available, since it only reads.
- Change their own account. Their LLM choices and report branding only apply to their own account, never to the brand.
What a viewer can't do
A viewer can't add, edit or delete topics, prompts or reports. They also can't change brand settings, the refresh schedule, technical audits or the team. On those screens, the controls are disabled and a short note says the access is view-only.
The spreadsheet import follows the same rule. Rows for a brand where you're a viewer are skipped, and the import tells you which brand was skipped and why.
Clear messages instead of dead ends
When a viewer tries something they can't do, from the app, the API or an AI agent over MCP, they get a message that says exactly what was blocked and who can help. For example: "You can't publish reports because you're a viewer on this brand. Ask Olive to give you edit access."
If you need edit access, ask a brand owner to change your role on the Team tab. Roles are set per brand, so you can be an editor on 1 brand and a viewer on another.
